Loose Muse (August 2006)

August's  LOOSE MUSE, a  monthly event for women writers of all genres, will be taking place on Wednesday, 9th August, 8.00-10.00 p.m @ The Poetry Café, 22 Betterton Street, London WC2 (Covent Garden tube) £5.00/£3.00 concs. This month instead of the two usual featured women writers, we are having a special VOICE WORKSHOP.  So, whether you're a total newcomer to the poetry scene or a spoken word veteran, why not come along and check it out as it's a workshop to explore all aspects of voice control for performance.

I will be one of the two workshop leaders, working with participants to write a new piece and then come to grips with the emotional content of their piece.  And I'm delighted to be working with talented actress Caroline Partridge, a skilled performer on both stage and screen, sharing the principles of voice techniques so you can get the best out of your work.

To get the ball rolling, there will still be open mike readings from the floor, as well as the chance to take part in what promises to be an excellent spoken word master class - sign up for open mike 7.30-8.00 p.m.
