June 2002: Dorothea Smartt:
Writer, poet and live artist, Dorothea was Brixton Market's first Poet-In-Residence and most recently guest writer at Florida International University, USA. Her work appears in numerous anthologies, including Bittersweet [Women's Press], Mythic Women, Real Women [Faber] and IC3 [Penguin].
Over the years Dorothea has performed her work across Britain, in Europe, South Africa and the USA and has received several awards, bursaries, and commissions.
Her poetry collection, "Connecting Medium" [Peepal Tree Press] was published recently.
